Queen Sparrow was born when I became a mother to two little girls & began to remember just how deeply children love to dress up. Not just for parties or special occasions, but every day — to climb trees, build dens, invent worlds, & step into stories of their own making. I searched for clothing that embraced this kind of imaginative, everyday fancy dress, but found that so much dress-up was themed & disposable.
I wanted something different. Clothing that invited daily dressing up rather than one-off costumes. Pieces that could be lived in, loved hard & handed down — garments with soul, not novelty.
My own childhood shaped this vision. I grew up surrounded by nature & creativity. My mother made much of our clothing by hand, I remember how special those pieces felt — always soft against the skin, never itchy, full of colour, character & completely unique. Clothes were repaired, adapted & passed along. Even now, my children wear some of the garments my sisters & I once did, still carrying stories stitched into their seams.
Queen Sparrow is an extension of that upbringing & those values. Each piece is created from pre-loved fabrics & thoughtfully crafted to become an heirloom — designed to grow with your child, to be shared between siblings & to resist the idea that clothing should be worn briefly & thrown away. These are garments where play & practicality meet & where sustainability is woven quietly into the magic.
Queen Sparrow exists to celebrate childhood wonder, creativity & a gentler way of making — honouring the beauty of hand-me-downs, the joy of dressing up & clothes that stand the test of time.
